Asian Inspired Art Journal Layout freaturing Faber Castell Gelatos and Big Brush Pens- 'A beautiful life is a simple life'

Inspired by my upcoming trip to Japan I created this  quick, easy and simple layout.

I started with a partly painted page that I had discarded. I sponged on white gesso (Golden) and let dry. Then I added Cotton Candy Faber Castell Gelato and used a baby wipe to smooth and blend, let this dry. Next I used Shadow Grey and Watering Can Archival Ink to stamp on asian script. I used Archival Ink because it dries permanent and won't move when other mediums and applied over the top. After that I drew the tree branch on in pencil (this terrified me) and used Chocolate Gelato which I smoothed and blended with a paint brush and water, let dry. I sealed the tree with gel medium  (Anna Griffin/Couture Creations Texture Paste Matt Finish) so that I could use and manipulate my Faber Castell Big Brush Pens. I also used gel medium to apply the saying, I covered it front and back so I could manipulate Big Brush Pens. Once the gel medium dried I used Nougat 178 Big Brush Pen to boarder the tree branch and Magenta 133 Big Brush Pen to boarder the saying, as I went I wet my finger with a baby wipe and blended/smoothed the line. Lastly I punched out little flowers and attached them with gel medium.

This page was easy, enjoyable and relaxing to create. Thanks for visiting my blog. Happy creating.

Road trip out west with Australiana paper

I love the Australiana paper and dies. They were perfect for scrapbooking our road trip out west. It was a holiday I did twice as a child, re-tracing my steps again was great, a great part of Queensland with amazing history of the first settlers. Inspired by my friend Jo (MadCook Creates) I did a lot of cutting the dies in multiple papers and piecing them together. I also enjoyed doing pocket pages.

Australiana Retreat Challenge - same kit, four friends, four amazing pages

At retreat I created 4 identical challenge packs with the beautiful Australiana range. We all just love this range and the Australiana dies. Check out the four amazing pages below.

Summer Retreat- a challenge from Amber

At retreat Amber gave out a challenge pack to 4 of us and also made one for herself. The paper was different in every pack, but all from the same range. Check out the beautiful pages that were created. We all loved doing the challenges set by each other as it kept the momentum going invetween classes.

Double layout by me of mums and my trip to Singapore.

Scrapbook Fantasies Spring Retreat- Kaisercraft 'mint wishes'- scraping my Asia holiday

Scrapbook Fantasies Spring retreat provided us with absolutely beautiful paper from KaiserCraft's Mint Wishes which is a Christmas range but I chose to do photos of my family holiday to Asia because I loved all the soft greens, blues and browns in the paper and my photos.

This is my page from Alicia Redshaw's class. I loved Cambodia, so unique.

Here is the page I designed to mirror the class page as I love double layouts in my holiday albums. I love the embossed title and flamingo wood piece.

Here is my creation of Alicia Redshaw's other class page from the retreat. El and I were a bit snobbish at the Asian food and took every opportunity to enjoy western food, looking back I get this was a bit unusual.

Here is the page I designed and created to compliment the retreat page (I was terrified being on the elephant).

As we always get so much extra paper I decided to continue scrapping my Asia holiday in the KaiserCrafr Mint Wishes collection. Here are my two pages from Bangkok. I loved playing with the circles and different shades of green.

The last two pages I created were out of my comfort zone with lots of flicking, embossing layering of paper and did cuts and flowers, but I am really happy I took on the challenge I set myself and am extremely pleased with the result.

Thanks for visiting :)

Wedding present- handmade album - KaiserCraft

I bought a KaiserCraft mini album and set about making an album as a wedding present for my friend. It's been a long time since I have posted on my blog as I have not found much time to scrapbook over the last few months, but I have slowly been working on this project. I've really enjoyed creating it. There is a mixture of space for her to put 6x4 and 5x7 photos and spots for her to journal special memories from her day. Here is the result.
